As part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic, component 9 – More effective management and strengthening of funding for research, development and innovation, we are carrying ouy a project with the acronym EXPERIMENTAL DETECTOR. The aim of the project is to support the EU’s role in the transformation and defense of global multilateralism as perceived and challenged from the perspectives of nation-states – especially those that challenge global multilateralism (e.g. China, Russia, Iran). Foreign policy is often dominated by short-term tasks at the expense of strategic thinking. This raises the question of the EU’s ability to formulate long-term policy measures. Monitoring trends is therefore just as important as their initial detection. Moreover, early warning can help prevent a worsening, if not escalation, of a full-blown crisis, or—at least—help manage it more successfully. For this purpose, the project focuses on the preparation and testing of key proposals – methodologies and approaches – for the analysis of emerging subtle changes in public and professional discourses (in the media) on foreign policy. In addition, two case studies are included to test the previous findings.
